The Upstate has had several hard freezes, meaning our roses are in a semi-dormant state. If you prefer, you can cut off all your leaves with black spot on them. If any of your hybrid tea or grandiflora roses are over 5 feet, you can cut them down to 4 feet. This should help prevent heavy wind and severe ice damage. Otherwise, we can take a rest from our rose chores and dream of new roses in the spring.
