Our rose chores for this year are almost done. White, yellow & apricot roses are usually winter tender, now is the time to protect them by surrounding and covering them with some pine needles. Don’t prune your roses now, winter cold can damage canes. In late February, through mid-March, is the best time to prune you rose canes. Shrub roses, like Knockouts and Drift roses can be pruned in late January.
