Stay cool – keep the leaves

Keeping your rose leaves healthy and on your bushes is critical this time of year. Water is the most important ingredient for continued bloom and root growth. Most mature hybrid tea roses need 9 gallons of water per week. Put out a rain gauge, it will help you keep track of weekly rainfall. When dead-heading, just cut off the blooms and keep the leaves. In August you will prune harder.
