Your roses are actively growing and may some may even be blooming. It is time to fertilize. Start with a liquid feed, use either Mills Easy Feed, Miracle-Gro’s Rose soluble, Sta-Green’s water soluble, or any of your favorite. Next, use both an organically based fertilizer, e.g., Mills Magic Mix, Espoma’s Plant or Rose Tone, Dr. Earth’s Rose & Flower fertilizer, and a chemically based one, e.g. Osmocote Plus 18-6-12, or Sta-Green’s 19-6-12, Scott’s Rose & Bloom. Organic fertilizers only last about 7 weeks, using a slow-release fertilizer will ensure that your roses are fed for several months depending on the fertilizer and soil temperatures.
